Ice Fishing Equipment and Spearing Decoys
The items in this category are carved wood fish decoys used by Ice Fishermen to lure and and spear sport fish. Primarily from Minnesota, Michigan and Wisconsin.
Rainbow trout with excellent realistic carved body, paint decoration and carved gills and tail. The fins are also nicely painted. 8 1/2″ in length. Probably not as old as some of the others, around 1980’s, but a very nice and well done Decoy by a skilled carver.

Interesting ice fishing spearing decoy, 7 ” long. Found at the bottom of Lake Michigan off Plum Island (near Door County, Wisconsin) 25+ years ago by a scuba diver. Acquired directly from the diver. Nice condition considering its home for 25+ years.

A most interesting Bass Ice Fishing Spearing Decoy. It is 5 1/2″ long with carved gills, mouth, eyes and nostrils. It has a nice folky carved character both from the humble carving to the subtle but effective green and black body and fins. Excellent condition.

Well used 8″ long Pike Spearing Decoy with a nicely carved wood body, tin fins , painted and carved eyes. The features are in good, used, worn condition. One side fin has been replaced with period tin and two original side fins have been strengthened with an inset tin flange.
