A Small Size Early 20th. C. “Hummer” Windmill Weight Made By the Elgin Wind Power and Pump Co. Circa 1910-1920. The Elgin Co. Was From Elgin, Illinois and Made a Diverse Range of Counterbalance Weights for Their Different Windmills. This Rooster Weight is Embossed Hummer E184 and was Made for Their Smaller 10 Foot Windmill. It is in Excellent Original Condition Retaining Some of its Old Black and Red Paint and Old Rust. The 2 Tail Feather Tips are Not Damaged, They Just Did Not Get Completely Filled with Iron in the Mold which is a Common Condition for the Weight. Interesting Side Note – When Found the Rooster was Part of a Lamp. Now Displayed on Its Custom Stand.
