Ice Fishing Fish Decoys

A very nice Trout decoy with exceptional pain decorations on the body and all six fins.  It also has most unusual applied and painted eyes.  The size is 8″ in length.  It is in excellent worn condition with most of the wear on the bottom of the body and fins.  Probably from the 1970’s or so.

A nice Brown or Brook Trout with unusual dorsal fin and well carved gills.  The paint decoration is very well done and although more subtle, it is pretty true to the species.  Fine original condition.  It is 8 5/8″ long.  Probably from the 1980’s

Rainbow trout with excellent realistic carved body, paint decoration and carved gills and tail.  The fins are also nicely painted.  8 1/2″ in length.  Probably not as old as some of the others, around 1980’s, but a very nice and well done Decoy by a skilled carver.

Interesting ice fishing spearing decoy, 7 ” long.  Found at the bottom of Lake Michigan off Plum Island (near Door County, Wisconsin) 25+ years ago by a scuba diver.  Acquired directly from the diver.  Nice condition considering its home for 25+ years.

A very well carved and paint decorated Trout Ice Fishing Spearing Decoy, 8 1/2″ long.  More detail than usual was given to the head, mouth and gill carving areas and the shape of the tin fins.  The carver finished with very nice paint colors and details.  Fine original condition with an attractive aged patina.  From a Minnesota collection.
