A Nicely Carved Later 19th. C. or Early 20th. C. Burl Wood Canoe Drinking Cup. Looks to be Either Birch or Maple Burl. Deeply Carved with Thin Walls to Take Advantage of the Natural Shape of the Burl. Carved Handle with Hole for the Belt Toggle. Has Achieved a Wonderful Golden Amber Aged Patina. Excellent Original Condition with Only 2 Short very Tight Stress Lines at the Lip. Visible in the Photos. A Very Nice Early Example from Either the Native American People or Early Trappers or Explorers.

A very nice Early 19th. C. mahogany “Cat” Plate/Bowl Stand. Very nice design and proportions creating an attractive example. Supported on well formed cabriole legs and turned vase pedestal with 3 turned “arms” that can rotate on the pedestal to hold plates or bowl. In fine original condition with very old if not original surface. Size is 13 1/4” Tall.

A nice Early and Interesting Burl Canoe Cup with an Array of Decorative Burl Spikes on the base of the Bowl with Interesting Overall Naturally Variegated Burl Wood Grain Colors. Nice formed opening for the Belt Toggle. 5 5/8” long. Probably the original varnish surface. Excellent original condition with a minor Burl grain stress check that has no movement, just a small line in the cup’s very tip.

A very nice Old Canoe Cup with a Deeply Carved “Egg” Shaped Bowl with well carved thin walls and nicely carved Long Carved Curved Handle. The Bowl retains its old original surface finish, the handle wear has worn off the finish to a nice smooth patina. Size is 6 1/2” long. The long leather belt strap may be original. The installation is old but not for sure original. This Canoe Cup is a little different from others, a bit more refined, and nicely designed and executed by the carver. Overall very nice original condition with only some very minor chipping on one side of the bowl’s edge. This is visible in the photos.
