Early 1900’s Burl Wood Box with Wood Hinge and Inlaid French Bazaar Multi Color Decoration. Beautifully Made Burl Wood Box in Excellent Condition. We Have Handled Many of these Boxes that were Made in a Wide Variety of Forms and Sizes. They are Characterized by a Full Length Integrated Wood Hinge and Raised Lip on the Inside Edge. These Boxes were Originally Made in Russia before the Revolution and Often Exported to Other Countries like France where the Bixes were then Decorated for the Local Markets. This one was Exported to France where the Design was Added and then Stamped Made in France. Nice Original Finish and Soft Patina. Size = 4 3/4” x 3 5/u” x 2”.
