Blown compote

Large blown and deep cut compote, 10″ diameter, 9 1/2″ tall. Deep cut circles and ellipses on the bowl and cut panels on the hollow pedestal. Excellent craftsmanship all around. Disk base, applied to hollow support pedestal and attached to the bowl with a glass wafer. Excellent condition with no damage or staining. Ground and polished pontil. Probably American origin, c. 1830.

Pair Pressed Glass Compotes
Pair Pressed Glass Compotes

Very nice pair of early 19th C. pressed glass compotes, probably New England. Made of 2 parts each connected by a glass wafer at the top of the stems. Excellent original condition. One compote is 5 1/8″ tall with a 6 3/8″ diameter. The other is 5 3/8″ tall witha 6 1/4″ diameter. Slight differences created by the hand finishing and assembly variances. Bases are the same diameter – 4 1/8″.
